Product Development Guidelines and Language
With respect to copyrightable material that might be developed as a part of the grant activity, please note the following:
If any copyrightable material (e.g., audiovisuals, software, publications, curricula and training materials, etc.) is developed under this grant (by the grantee or contractor) the Commonwealth Neurotrauma Initiative (CNI) Trust Fund shall have a royalty-free nonexclusive and irrevocable right to reproduce, publish, or otherwise use and authorize others to use, the work, for purposes which further the goals of the CNI Trust Fund. All contracts or other arrangements entered into by the grantee for purpose of developing and procuring such material shall specifically reference and reserve the rights of the CNI Trust Fund with respect to the material. The grantee shall provide three copies of all such copyrightable material upon the request of the CNI Trust Fund Advisory Board.
Verbal reports and presentations should acknowledge support by the CNI Trust Fund. For printed materials, the following wording is recommended:
"...supported in part by (your CNI Project or Contract #) from the Commonwealth Neurotrauma Initiative (CNI) Trust Fund. The contents are the sole responsibility of the authors and do not necessarily represent the official views of CNI Trust Fund."
Communications materials are any documents and presentations intended for audiences other than the CNI Trust Fund Advisory Board, including, but not limited to:
- Fact sheets, newsletters, flyers
- Press releases, media advisories, other media materials
- Summaries, reports, monographs, plans
- Forms, name tags, folders
- Slides (including 35 mm and PowerPoint), overhead transparencies, meeting handouts
- Audio and videotapes
- Business cards and brochures
- Web sites, home pages and web materials
